Whakarire Avenue Car Park & Cycleway: Open for Our Community!

Another great project ticked off! The new Whakarire Avenue Car Park and Cycleway is officially open to residents, adding a fresh link to Napier’s growing cycling network.

Toa Civil Construction proudly handed the keys back to Napier City Council and joined locals for a celebratory first ride along the new pathway. This upgrade makes it easier than ever to park, ride, and connect straight to the Rangatira Revetment and Pandora Road.

During construction, crews uncovered a piece of Napier’s history - an old freezing works foundation! The foundations were carefully protected, plans were quickly adapted, and the team kept the project moving without missing a beat.

A rewarding project that involved the collaboration of multiple services and adapting to challenges as they arose. Another community project done right.
